Movie 4

Slayers Gorgeous Program Eating. Lina and Naga always start things off eating, and today was no different. And, of course, in the middle of the meal, everyone leaves. Seem that the townspeople all know something that Lina and Naga don't - they know to run to their homes whenever the dragons of Marlene Calvert come back into town.

The town guards show up, just on time. Apparently, these dragons come to the kingdom quite often (I'm still not sure why), and they're used to getting their way. Unfortunately, Lina and Naga aren't happy after having their meal interrupted, and end up sending Marlene and her dragons fleeing instead.

Before long, Lina finds herself in consultation with the lord of the kingdom, and he makes a very interesting offer. See, he's tired of his daughter rampaging about the town so often, and he hires Lina to help take out her stronghold and bring his daughter back to justice. (I think the point of the fight may actually be over possession of the Chaos Sword in Marlene's possession, but that's pure conjecture...)

However, Naga the Serpent has other plans - mostly involving money. She shows up in Marlene's stronghold, trying to one-up Lina once again and make her own fortune. At first, Marlene is a bit reluctant to cooperate, but Naga's laugh makes them think otherwise. With the addition of Naga, Marlene declares her group to be called the Four Lords of Heaven (Shi-ten-oh).

Lina and Calvert decide first to lead a full-scale assault on the stronghold of Marlene. Meanwhile, Naga, Marlene, and Thornfort set out as well, with the remaining Lord of Heaven, Geizneau, staying behind. Naga and Marlene find no one at home; Marlene sees no need to attack with the Lord not there to witness.

Lina, however, has no such qualms about levelling Marlene's vacated stronghold - vacated, because Geizneau has temporarily retreated. When Naga and Marlene hear the resultant explosion, they rush back, meeting them on the way.

Marlene always had a way with dragons, even since she was a little child. Her favorite dragon, Zoanflare, is a medium-sized red dragon with four green jewel-like eyes. Along with Zoanflare and her squad of lesser dragons, Marlene rushes out to battle with Lord Calvert's soldiers, with Naga on her side and Lina on his. Lord Calvert challenges Zoanflare with a powerful spell, but ends up getting half-swallowed by the much larger beast.

With that failure, Lina tries a shot at the dragons. First, she announces herself - and that's pretty much all there is to the battle, because the dragons flee at the sound of the name "Lina Inverse." With all that out of the way, and Marlene fleeing, the only opponent left is one of the Four Lords, Thornfort.

Thornfort has a duel with Lina's fireball, and loses. When he tries standing up, the rest of Lord Calvert's soldiers smack the near-unconscious Thornfort down.

Afterwards, the teams both return to regroup. The movie takes a turn to dialogue for a while until Geizneau starts getting mad. Eventually, Lina and Naga end up meeting on the battlefield again, going off into a more personal duel that starts in a chase and ends in Naga finding out how the bottom of a waterfall feels.

Marlene shows up afterwards to challenge Lina personally, giving Lina a personal demonstration of her feared Chaos Sword. Lina ends up resorting to her infamous Fireball attack to cool off Marlene, which she counters with her sword. She dips the sword into water to kill the flames, but that also seems to be a special trigger for the sword, turning it into a normal sword again. This has the unfortunate consequence of allowing Lina to break it with her dagger... (thanks to MSulli4@aol.com for the correction)

But even then, after Naga reappears to disrupt the battle, Geizneau wants his crack at Lord Calvert and Lina. Geizneau transforms into a giant serpent (I'm not sure if he was one all along or not...) and starts attacking the city - Marlene included. Marlene's dragons swarm the serpent, doing some damage, but they eventually fall. Lina's knee-jerk reaction to such failure is "that overkill Dragu-Slave thingy." Of course, it does no damage to a beast which has the ability to create a force-field, like this one can.

Thus, Lina and Naga form a strategy, dropping giant shards of ice onto it. They distract him enough for Geizneau to turn on his forcefield, trapping Lina inside so that she can unleash her Dragu-Slave, turning the spherical forcefield into a convection oven, and Geizneau into a nice roasted meal. (thanks to Rocci Cirone for the correction)

In any case, Marlene and her father have a miraculous reunion, and everything ends up okay, except for Naga and Lina who get skimped on their reward, and end up chasing each other off into the sunset.
